FIELD: transport.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to automotive industry, particularly vehicle power plant control systems. Proposed power plant comprises stepless transmission and engine. Transmission comprises rotary input shaft coupled with engine and output shaft coupled with wheels, and variable speed box. Proposed method comprises maintaining engine rpm in the range of low inverse gear ration of transmission, gear transmission "neutral" and transmission of drive torque request to engine even when power transmission operates in free running conditions. Control system comprises stepless transmission, and toothed gearing. Variable speed box allows producing reactive torque and automatic gear ration variation in transmission/variable speed box. Note here that control system uses two algorithms to determine reactive torque required from variable speed box, one default algorithm and another for singularity.
EFFECT: improved control over engine torque.
