SUBSTANCE: invention relates to methods of purifying highly mineralised water, specifically sea water and can be used in drinking water treatment systems. The method of purifying highly mineralised water involves a step for purification from boron and bromine and a desalination step. The method is distinguished by that the water is demineralised via reverse osmosis first and then purified from bromine and boron using an anionite in C1- -form. During demineralisation, the ratio of permeate to concentrate is 1:(0.2-20).

EFFECT: purification of water from boron and bromine to drinking standards, as well as simplification of the process and reduction of power consumption.
