FIELD: water treatment.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to methods of treating waste water from hydrometallurgy. Method of processing sulphate vanadium-containing waste water involves neutralization thereof with sodium hydroxide, separation of the neutralized solution into a precipitate and a filtrate. Neutralization is carried out by bringing the pH value to 12.5-13.0. Obtained filtrate is directed for additional mechanical filtration and bipolar electrodialysis at current density of 1-3 A/dm2 to obtain sulphuric acid, sodium hydroxide and sodium sulphate solution. Sulphuric acid is fed into the process for leaching vanadium compounds. Sodium hydroxide is fed into the process for neutralization of waste water. Sodium sulphate solution is directed for separation by reverse osmosis at pressure of 0.1 MPa. Obtained permeate is returned to the process for the preparation of process solutions. Retentate is mixed with a neutralized solution obtained after additional mechanical filtration.
EFFECT: possibility of recuperation of sulphuric acid and alkali with possibility of reuse of residual liquid of vanadium precipitation, which reduces level of waste water formation and consumption of reagents.
