METHOD OF PRODUCING DESALINATED AND DEMINERALISED WATER FOR NUCLEAR POWER PLANTS FROM SALINE WATER Russian patent published in 2016 - IPC C02F9/02

Abstract RU 2598432 C1

FIELD: energy.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to production of desalinated and demineralised water for nuclear power plants. Water supply source used is waste saline water for cooling nuclear power plants, what was subjected to heating and air cooling - deaeration. Method comprises pretreatment thereof from organic substances and active chlorine on packed carbon filter 3, from suspended matter on microfilter 4 and alkali-earth elements on softening cationie filter 5, filled with cationite in Na+-form. Further desalination of water is carried out on two successive reverse-osmosis filters 7 and 10 and post-treatment on cationite 11 and 12 anionite desalinating filters with cationite and anionite in H+- and OH- forms, respectively. Filtrate of first reverse osmosis filter 7 via intermediate tank 8 is directed to input of second reverse osmosis filter 10, and part of concentrate of first reverse osmosis filter is returned to initial water tank 1, remaining volume is directed for discharge. Filtrate of second reverse osmosis filter is fed for post-treatment on cationite filter 11, and all concentrate is returned to initial water tank. Regeneration of softening cationite filter without radioactive or chemically toxic contaminants is carried out with table salt solution, and in presence said contaminants, spent cationite is directed without regeneration for conditioning and burial. Furthermore, load of softening cationite filter can be spent cationite of desalting cationite filter saturated with Na cations.

EFFECT: technical result is considerably longer service life of desalinating reverse-osmosis filters and ion-exchange filter.
