FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to binder compositions and can be used in making sealing and construction materials, including in shipbuilding for sealing cable passages, in atomic and oil refining industry, in making art and decorative articles. The magnesite cement contains powdered components - caustic magnesite as a base, a mixture of calcium sulphate, amorphous silicic acid and wood flour as an expansion agent and additionally a structuring thixotropic agent - hydrophobisated aerosol in the following ratio, in wt %: caustic magnesite - 76.2-80.7, calcium sulphate - 12.1-13.2, amorphous silicic acid - 2.2-3.4, wood flour - 4.8-6.3, hydrophobisated aerosol - 0.2-0.9, and a hardener - aqueous solution of magnesium chloride or bischofite with density 1200-1220 kg/m3 with ratio of powdered components to hardener equal to 55-60:40-45 wt %. Specific surface area of aerosol - 300-380 m2/g.
EFFECT: possibility of controlling rheological properties of the binder in a wide range from viscous-fluid to thixotropic state, improved sealing properties of the binder.
