FIELD: oil and gas industry.
SUBSTANCE: method of reinforcing housings of diamond bits, which involves turning and milling processing of component parts and cavities of housing, including channels for supply of flushing liquid to blades and cutting edges of inserts with PDC, processing of sockets for these inserts, tight installation of graphite ends to those sockets; at that, housing is pre-heated to temperature within 400°C, built-up welding of spaces is performed between ends on rear and front flanks with wear-resistant alloy of tungsten-cobalt type, after built-up welding and cooling of housing the graphite ends are removed, instead of them there installed are inserts with PDC, they are soldered at temperature of not more than 650°C, after cooling there performed is low tempering at temperature of about 280°C, and then the whole surface of housing is coated with sputtered wear-resistant protective coating with hardness of up to HRA 72, with one or several coats till specified design thickness of 0.2-1.5 mm is reached.
EFFECT: improving protection reliability of housings and blades of diamond bits against abrasive wear, increasing resistance and properties of operation of bits.
