SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medical equipment, namely to devices for body fat measurement. The device comprises a block for upper limbs accommodating a unit held in a hand and an active unit, and an electrode for lower limbs, contacting with a lower limb of the patient. The held unit of the block incorporates an electrode for upper limbs, and the active unit - the first surface contacting with an abdominal surface of the patient, and also a pair of the first electrodes and a pair of the second electrodes located on the first surface. A measuring unit and a computing unit evaluate the visceral fat amount in the patient by two types of potentials measured respectively when current passes through the pair of electrodes for upper and lower limbs, and when current passes through the pair of the second electrodes, and also by physical characteristics of the patient.
