FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention concerns medicine, namely orthopaedics. The surgery involves the first encapsulated metatarsophalangeal articulation including a joint of the first metatarsal bone and a proximal phalanx of the first finger. A longitudinal skin incision is performed on and an internal foot surface in a projection of the first metatarsophalangeal articulation. A capsule is approached. It is followed with arthrotomy in the diagonal dorsal-plantar direction to form a fasciocapsular flap with its base is directed to the proximal phalanx of the first finger. The flap is folded back; the capsular leaves are closed together to correct a position of the first finger. The fasciocapsular flap is used to form an internal collateral ligament. It is sutured to an inferomedial edge of the head of the first metatarsal bone and a tendon of the first finger abducent.
EFFECT: technique prevents talipes varus of the first finger.
