FIELD: information technology.

SUBSTANCE: in order to control interference, a sector m evaluates perceived interference from terminals in neighbouring sectors and obtains an interference evaluation. Sector m can create a report for wireless transmission (OTA) on other sector interference (OSI) and/or an inter-sector (IS) OSI report based on the interference evaluation. Sector m can transmit the IS OSI report to neighbouring sectors, receive IS OSI reports from neighbouring sectors and control transmission of data for terminals in sector m based on the received IS OSI reports. Sector m can control access to terminals in sector m, cancel assignment of permitted terminals, control terminals in sector m so as to reduce interference for neighbouring sectors and/or assign traffic channels to terminals in sector m, which enable reduction of interference for neighbouring sectors.

EFFECT: increased efficiency of each terminal due to reduction of interference from other terminals in the wireless communication system.
