FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to preparation of high-octane oxygen-containing petrol components. Described is a high-octane additive which contains ethyl-tert-butyl ether obtained through chemical contact of isobutene-containing hydrocarbon mixtures and ethanol with acidic ionite catalyst(s) at temperature of (30-100)°C, pressure (0.5-2.0) MPa, bulk speed of feeding material of (3.5-10.0) h-1 and molar ratio of ethanol, supplied and recycled, to isobutene equal to (0.95-1.1): 1.0. The reaction is carried out in one or two direct flow zones with subsequent separation of unreacted C4 hydrocarbons in the rectification zone and output of the end product from the bottom of the rectification zone. The lateral stream is extracted from the rectification zone in amount of (5.0-15.0) % above the inlet point of the reaction mass and directed to direct reaction zone which is first on the path (or the only one).
EFFECT: simplification of the process, increased efficiency of the apparatus and obtaining concentrated 99,0% ethyl-tert-butyl ether.
