FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: two-sided trigonometric levelling is carried out from point to be determined and two base points at a distance S with exceedance h0, measured through high-accuracy geometric levelling. Difference in height caused by refraction effect is measured. Exceedance h1 is measured in the direction of positive inclination and h2 in the direction of negative inclination. Atmospheric pressure and air temperature are determined. Integral temperature gradients of air are calculated using formulas: where T is air temperature on the absolute temperature scale K, p is atmospheric pressure, Mbars. Transitional multipliers (coefficients) obtained on a test object (model) are determined. Corrections to height h1, h2 are calculated using the formula:
EFFECT: higher accuracy and cost effectiveness of determining height.
