FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: pre-dried and weighed sample of dispersion medium is placed between two ice slabs, ice-containing soil or ice-containing dispersion medium directly in contact with them. The sample is then placed in pressure chamber together with the slabs at given negative or positive Celsius temperature. A gas-hydrating agent is fed into the pressure chamber until attaining pressure above pressure of the three-phase equilibrium of ice-gas-hydrate, and the sample is kept in the pressure chamber until its equilibrium saturation with moisture. After that gas pressure in the pressure chamber is lowered to atmospheric pressure level. The sample is extracted and weighed. Equilibrium content of moisture in the sample is found from the difference in mass before and after testing.
EFFECT: higher accuracy of determination.
