FIELD: physics.

SUBSTANCE: evaluation and analysis of stationarity/non-stationarity of an image involve steps on which: digital data are analysed using a computer, where the digital data are an image which is one printed copy of an image, a digital image or both, in order to form at least one statistical factor which characterises stationarity of the image. At least one quantitative factor is obtained based on at least one statistical factor. It is determined whether the said at least one qualitative factor meets the stationarity criterion; and if it is established that the said at least one qualitative factor meets the said stationarity criterion, the said image is stored or displayed for use as a grid for the stationary training mode for at least one multipoint geostatistical analysis, or if it is established that the said at least one quantitative factor does not meet the said stationarity criterion, the said image is stored or displayed for use as a grid for the non-stationary training mode for at least one multipoint geostatistical analysis.

EFFECT: possibility of creating a training mode which is suitable for multipoint geostatistical techniques, formation of data strucutures characterising properties of the training mode which can be used in multipoint geostatistical techniques.
