METHOD OF TREATING HEEL BONE FRACTURES AND COMPRESSION-DISTRACTION APPARATUS FOR ITS REALISATION Russian patent published in 2010 - IPC A61B17/56 A61B17/66

Abstract RU 2391931 C1

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to medicine, namely to traumatology and orthopedics, and can be used in treatment of heel bone fractures. At least one supporting pin is passed through neck or head of talus and second supporting pin through distal part of I instep bone and IV and/or V instep bones, mainly with orientation of said pin parallel to plantar surface of foot. Pins are fixed in meddle part of closed supporting frame of compression-distraction apparatus. After that through heel tuber, as close as possible to zone of Achilles tendon fixation, perpendicular to saggital plane of heel bone, reposition pin is passed, which is fixed in reposition frame of horseshoe-like form perpendicular to its longitudinal axis. Due to connection of reposition frame by means of threaded rods and hinges with supporting frame of compression-distraction apparatus, reposition of heel bone is carried out, eliminating displacement of heel tuber and creating distraction of fragments of compression fracture of heel bone body. After that stabilising pin is passed in parallel or oblique direction with respect to reposition pin and fixed to reposition frame of the apparatus. Compression-distraction apparatus for treatment of heel bone fractures contains closed supporting frame, back part and middle supporting part, the latter being intended for fixation of supporting pins. Middle part of supporting frame is made with length exceeding distance from distal part of instep bones and middle part of talus. Back part of supporting frame is inclined to its middle part at angle , where is average angle of first instep bone inclination to plane of foot sole in saggital plane, and first closed part of supporting frame is bent from its middle part to side opposite to inclination of frame back part. Reposition frame is made of horseshoe-like form. Free ends of reposition frame are bent and have holes for threaded bars hingedly connected with middle part of supporting frame. Back part of horseshoe-like frame is connected with back part of supporting frame by means of threaded bars and hinges. In middle part of reposition frame made are holes for fixers of reposition and stabilising pins. Apparatus is provided with support for heel bone, made in form of stirrup, fixed by means of brackets on back part of supporting frame.

EFFECT: inventions ensure restoration of foot function, acceleration of terms of bone fracture consolidation, elimination of involvement of ankle joint into process of reponing distraction.
