The method of compressing a signalling message in a communication system involves reception of part of the signalling message; detection of a copy of this part of the signalling message in memory; comparison of the length of the detected part with the stored length value; and, depending on the comparison result, saving the detected part of the signalling message in memory.
EFFECT: increased efficiency of compressing and decompressing algorithms.
