FIELD: method and device for compressing field of data packet header with use of schematic, based on value of timer and bearing mark.
SUBSTANCE: in accordance to method, source generates field of header, such as timestamp, in accordance to real time data transfer protocol. Packet including aforementioned field is sent to compressor for calculation of compressed field of header on basis of field of packer header from source and temporal shift ("jitter") by computing "jitters", which network applies to transfer of packets prior to compressor and between compressor and decompressor. Compressed field of header in packet is sent to decompressor, containing local time, where compressed field is unpacked by computing approximation of header field on basis of time which passed since incoming of previous packet, and value of field in previous packet. Approximation is then corrected in accordance to compressed header field represented in the packet.
EFFECT: generation of data packet, resistant to header compression errors, producing similar or constant size of header even in case of random download of timestamp value.
