FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to ophthalmology, namely to reconstructive ophthalmosurgery and aims at surgery of severe blepharoptosis. After a tarsal plate is uncovered, there are two vertical tunnels created in the soft tissues between the frontal bone and the tarsal plate, and a tunnel connecting distal ends of said vertical tunnels. A strip of mersilene mesh is passed through the formed "П"-tunnel, and at first, one end of the strip is closed with interrupted suturing onto a top part of the tarsal plate. The mersilene mesh is tightened with adequately adjusting the superior eyelid. After positioning the superior eyelid on the required height, the second end of the strip is closed with interrupted suturing. Witnall ligament is anchored by "П"-suturing to the top of the tarsal plate.
EFFECT: increased functional strength of a levator combined with improved cosmetic effect and lower probability of hyper- or hypocorrection.
