SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, namely to ophthalmology. A skin incision is made along the upper eyelid along the crease. The fibers of the circular muscle are separated and the tarsoorbital fascia is opened. The levator aponeurosis is isolated and cut off from the tarsal plate, the lateral horns are crossed and the body of the levator is isolated. The levator is shortened with the imposition of fixation sutures on the muscle and the anterior surface of the tarsal plate to the position of the edge of the upper eyelid at the desired level. The excess distal section of the levator is straightened in the proximal direction and sutured in the center to the proximal remaining part of the levator, and the lateral parts of the levator are straightened, stretched and sutured to the stumps of the lateral horns of the levator aponeurosis. When the skin is sutured, a fold of the upper eyelid is formed, capturing the fibers of the remaining proximal part of the levator stretched in the proximal direction into the seam between the edges of the skin wound.

EFFECT: method ensures the achievement of the desired position of the upper eyelid with the improvement of the function of the levator, increasing the functional and cosmetic effect.
