FIELD: process engineering.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to methods and device intended for butt-seam welding of small-section parts, for examples parts made from aluminium alloys at specialised butt-welding machines. Proposed method comprises measuring part temperature in welding machine jaws (4) in at least two points, extrapolating temperature to obtain temperature on end faces and cutting in continuous flashing-off mode after preset temperature on end faces is reached. Device comprises two thermo-sensitive elements, for example thermocouples (12). The latter are mounted in welding machine jaws (4), spaced apart. Temperature transducer (13) consists of face temperature setter (15), first unit (16) of computing natural logarithm and comparator (17) of generation of flashing-off start temperature signal, two temperature measuring units (18 and 19), second (20) and third (21) natural algorithm computation units, subtraction unit (22) and multiplication unit (23), constant A/B constant adder (24) and setter, where A is distance from end face to first thermocouple and B is distance between first and second thermocouples.

EFFECT: optimised process, heating parametres and increased quality of welded seam.
