FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: method involves measurement using a spring-loaded magnetoelastic transducer at given point on the surface of an object. The transducer is mounted on a swivel arm through a spring-load system. Pressure of the transducer on the object is monitored on a scale, by setting it within a defined interval. Stress values less than half the limit of proportionality of the material are measured at pressure on the upper section of the interval, and stress values greater than half the limit of proportionality are measured on the lower section of the interval.
EFFECT: more accurate and reproducibility of measurement results in any spatial position.
