FIELD: measurement equipment.

SUBSTANCE: method consists in measurement of inclination angles of platforms of maximum primary stresses at the specified points on surface of the item using a magneto-elastic transducer equipped with an angle measurement device, in preparation of plates-specimens from material of the investigated item, in control in them of the change of inclination angles of platforms of maximum primary stresses during loading. With that, in the middle part of plates-specimens there applied in certain manner are marks forming strips of the specified width and roughness of surface. Within the limits of strips, before and after loading of plates-specimens there controlled is the change of inclination angles of platforms of maximum primary stresses to longitudinal axes of plates-specimens. As per the control results, a conclusion is made on possibility of applying a magneto-elastic method for determination of stresses in items with different roughness values of surfaces.

EFFECT: improving measurement accuracy of mechanical stresses in items from ferromagnetic materials that have passed processing on metal-cutting machines.
