ESTIMATION METHOD OF RECENT ACTIVITY OF TECTONIC DISLOCATIONS Russian patent published in 2010 - IPC G01V9/00 G01V99/00

Abstract RU 2393510 C1

FIELD: mining.

SUBSTANCE: areas of neotectonic fractures are discovered on the investigated territory. In the discovered areas there performed is field geologic-geomorphological mapping with further determination of deformations and displacements of recent deposits and the relief elements. Age of those deformations is determined and areas of active fractures are determined. Geophysical investigations are performed in the areas of active fractures, and then there determined is location and structure of fractures and active breaks are determined. Then there determined is type of displacement of the break wings. In addition, there determined are values of breaking tectonic displacements of the bottom of humus horizon of recent soil body in wings of active breaks forming the area of active fracture, common value of displacement of bottom of humus horizon by the fracture and age of humus horizon. After that there determined are velocities of recent tectonic displacements by fractures by means of division of humus horizon bottom displacement value by its age. The obtained velocities of recent tectonic displacements are summed depending on the displacement type along the travel of the profile located across the main neotectonic fractures. Estimation of recent tectonic activity of the fracture is performed by comparing velocity values of recent tectonic displacements by fractures with their interval total values characterising the degree of their tectonic activity.

EFFECT: improving the estimation accuracy of recent activity of tectonic dislocations owing to measuring the deformations of the most recent geologic formation - humus horizon of recent soil.
