Freight car bogie cast side frame comprises top closed-section ring with axle box bearing surfaces and supports that make axle box openings, bottom closed-section ring with spring support platform, two inclined closed-section rings that link said top and bottom ring and central spring opening. Frame sections in circular transitions of top and inclined rings and axle box bearing surfaces feature ω-like surface. Frame central part apex is directed inward, not extending beyond its outlines.
EFFECT: higher strength, reliability and simplified design.
