FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: lubricating oil composition contains base oil, glycerin monooleate and one or more nitrile compounds selected from a group consisting of saturated or unsaturated linear aliphatic nitriles having 8 to 24 carbon atoms. Preferably, the nitrile compounds are selected from a group consisting of nitriles of coconut fatty acids, oleyl nitrile, decane nitrile and nitriles of tall acids, and are present in amount of 0.1-1.0 wt % in terms of total mass of the composition. The glycerin monooleate is preferably present in amount of 0.05-5.0 wt %. The composition can contain one or more additional esters of polyatomic alcohols, each present in amount of 0.1-1.0 wt %.
EFFECT: reduced friction and reduced fuel consumption.
