FIELD: information technology.
SUBSTANCE: network can have several connected nodes. The method involves the following: drawing the network topology map, calculation of values of binding force between nodes, calculation of the centrality index of the eigen vector for all nodes based on the said binding force values; identification of nodes with local maximum centrality indices of the eigen vector as central nodes; grouping nodes in regions surrounding each identified central node; assigning each node with a role depending on its position in the region: central node, region element, border node, transit node, passive node; measuring distribution capacity of the network based on the number of regions, their size and structure of connections between them, assigning the role of region elements in the given region to all nodes for which the path with the steepest ascent on the topology map ends uniquely at the central node of that region.
EFFECT: identification of physical or logic connections of a physical network and a logical network.
