FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine and to medical equipment and aims at determining learning time to estimate a pass band of the receptive fields of the visual system neurons. Flickers of the preset initial frequency, and then alternately decreasing initial decrement and increasing initial increment frequencies of the preset fixed period are presented to a person being tested. At the first measurement stage, the difference of the presented frequencies is increased until the person being tested specified an after-threshold discrimination area of the decrement and increment frequencies. At the second stage, the difference of the presented frequencies set at the first stage is decreased with smaller speed until the person being tested specifies a subthreshold discrimination area of the frequencies. At the third stage, the difference of the presented frequencies is increased discretely until the person being tested specifies a threshold discrimination area of the presented flicker frequencies. The pass band of the receptive fields of the visual system neurons is determined as a threshold fixed at the third measurement stage. The described procedure is repeated more than once; function ΔF=f (Ni) of the pass bands of the receptive fields the visual system neurons ΔF is graphed, where Ni - is a number of the i-th measurement, i=1,2,… k; k is a number of measurements, to enable a quasi-stationary mode when a transient process is completed. The learning time is determined by the number of measurements during the transient process.
EFFECT: method allows considering individual stabilisation behaviour of the measured pass bands of the receptive fields the visual system neurons.
