BONE GRAFTING TECHNIQUE IN CORRECTION OF TIBIA RECURVATION DEFORMATION COMBINED WITH LENGTHENING OF SHORT LOWER EXTREMITY IN CHILDREN Russian patent published in 2010 - IPC A61B17/56 

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to orthopaedics. In the upper one-third of the fibular bone, oblique osteotomy in a sagittal plane is performed. A compression-distraction apparatus is applied on a lower extremity with fixing the knee and ankle joints. Then stepped osteotomy is performed in a subcondylar region of the tibia at the top of the deformation, namely: below a growth zone, in parallel and below an attachment point of the patella to form proximal and distal fragments. The distal fragment of the tibia is used to form an autograft of the length equal to the size of shortening of the lower extremity. The formed autograft is fixed with a titanium nickelide to the proximal shin. Then controlled distraction osteosynthesis is performed to correct recurvation deformations combined with simultaneous lengthening of the short lower extremity.

EFFECT: method provides stimulation osteogenesis combined with correction of deformation and lengthening of the short lower extremity, cutting time of treatment.
