METHOD OF TRANSOSSEOUS OSTEOSYNTHESIS OF SOLITARY SHAFT FRACTURES OF FOREARM BONES IN CHILDREN AND ADOLESCENTS Russian patent published in 2010 - IPC A61B17/58

Abstract RU 2394519 C1

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to traumatology and orthopaedics. There are two supports applied on the forearm and representing plates curved in a proper plane, or straight multiperforated plates of standard components of the Ilizarov's apparatus, with mounted remote arms connected by threaded bars. After eliminating a rotational deformity with using a rod introduced in a distal part of a proximal fragment, a length-wise deformity is solved by distraction on the threaded bars. A width-wise deformity is eliminated after preliminary insertion of the supports. When using the multiperforated plates, they are mounted along the axes of bone fragments, and when introducing the supports in the form of plates curved in the proper plane, they are arranged perpendicularly to the axes of bone fragments. Introduction of two rods, namely the distal rod of the proximal fragment and the proximal rod of the distal fragment, is ensured in a plane containing the least mass of soft tissues; while another two rods - proximal in the proximal fragment and distal in the distal fragment, are enabled with a radial displacement to 45° in relation to said pair of rods. When a fracture line is observed within a middle one-third of the forearm bones, the straight multiperforated plates are applied on the bone fragments, and insertion of the rods onto the plates with said radial displacement to 45° is enabled by changing a rotation angle and length of the mounted remote arms. When the fracture line is arranged in the upper or lower one-third of the forearm bones, the plate curved in its proper plane is applied on a short bone fragment, and the multiperforated plate - on the long fragment.

EFFECT: method provides more rigid fixation of the bone fragments, weight reduction of the transosseous apparatus, and lower traumatism.
