FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to oil refining, particularly to methods of preparing platinum-zeolite containing bead cracking catalysts. The invention describes a method of preparing a platinum-zeolite containing catalyst for cracking oil fractions through formation of a hydrosol into mineral oil, which is synthesised by mixing sodium silicate and ammonium sulphate solutions with aqueous suspensions of fine-grained powder of zeolite Y and alumina, stabilised with dispersants and which contain chloroplatinic acid, with subsequent activation, washing, drying and calcination in an atmosphere of flue gases and water vapour, where activation involves the following successive steps: syneresis in sodium sulphate solution, treatment with an aluminium sulphate solution, treatment with a solution of a mixture of nitrates of rare-earth elements, treatment with an ammonium nitrate or sulphate solution.
EFFECT: strong highly active and highly selective cracking catalyst with controlled bulk density.
