FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used to process rice husks and rice straws to silicon dioxide. The rice husks or rice straws are treated with a 20-60% solution of sodium hydroxide at 70-95°C. The undissolved residue is separated from the obtained solution, from which a solid product is precipitated using mineral acid. The obtained precipitate undergoes thermal treatment at 550-600°C for 30-60 minutes, cooled and treated with a 20-60% solution of sodium hydroxide at 40-60°C to obtain a sodium orthosilicate solution. Silicon dioxide is precipitated using mineral acid, separated from the solution, washed to a neutral reaction and dried.
EFFECT: invention enables to obtain highly pure nanodispersed amorphous silicon dioxide with particle size not greater than 0,1 mcm and pore size of 0,9-4 nm.
