FIELD: technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the technology of processing silica-containing plant biomass. Method involves treating the biomass with sodium hydroxide at elevated temperature, separating the solid residue from the extract. Residue is washed and dried to obtain powdered cellulose. Bio-filled silica gel is extracted from the extract, from which amorphous silica is then isolated with the content of the basic substance from 85.5 to 99.0 wt.%. Bio-filled silica gel is obtained by precipitation with mineral acid at pH 8–9, followed by washing and drying. Silica is obtained by heat treatment of a bio-filled gel at 600 °C.
EFFECT: invention provides complex processing of raw materials while increasing the yield of valuable products.
