FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: invention can be used for obtaining catalyst carriers, ion-exchange materials, sorbents, used in purification, drying and separation of gases, in purification of water from bacteria and pesticides, for preparation of pigments, for production of food additives. Method includes interaction of solution of sodium or potassium silicate with aluminium salt solution, separation of formed sediment, washing it with water and thermal processing. Solution of sodium or potassium silicate is obtained by processing rice husk or straw with 4-10% solution of sodium or potassium hydroxide at temperature 70-90°C for 40-60 min with further separation of non-dissolved residue of vegetable raw material. As aluminium salt solution used is saturated water solution of aluminium sulphate Al2(SO4)3·18H2O in amount, providing neutral pH value of reaction mixture. After settling formed sediment of target product is washed with water until complete removal of sulphate ions and is subjected to thermal processing at temperature150-600°C. If sodium hydroxide is used, sediment is settled for not less than 5 hours, when potassium hydroxide is used, sediment is settled for not less than 1 hour.

EFFECT: simplification of method and increase of its safety for human health and the environment with simultaneous extension of raw material base.
