FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to an adhesive system which is an adhesive composition and which can be used for gluing wood-based elements, and to a method of obtaining the said adhesive system. The adhesive system contains at least partially helium-saturated starch and a polymer (P) which is an acetoacetylated polyvinyl alcohol. The adhesive system also contains a polymer or copolymer which contains primary amino- or amido groups. The adhesive composition is obtained by mixing starch and polymer (P), which is an acetoacetylated polyvinyl alcohol. The adhesive composition can be used as an adhesive system for gluing wood-based material elements. The wood-based material elements can be sheet materials or wood chips.

EFFECT: invention enables use of the adhesive system to obtain wood-based products through application of the adhesive system and gluing, such as laminated or facing materials or moulded slabs.
