FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to machine building and can be used for grinding spherical bodies made from ceramic materials, particularly oxide ceramics, carbides, silicon nitrides, noble and precious stones and/or glass at spherical grinding machine. Grinding is performed by grinding wheel with abrasive grain bound with synthetic resin. Said abrasive grain consists of 50% of diamond, not less, and at least 5% of chromium oxide Cr(2)O(3). Grinding wheel features abrasive grit varying from 181 to 2 mcm, while binder used therein is produced by elevated-temperature compaction.
EFFECT: higher efficiency of grinding and reduced wear of grinding wheel.
