FIELD: machine building.
SUBSTANCE: present invention pertains to abrasive machining and can be used in centreless grinding of cylindrical surfaces with removal of small or large amounts of material from the work piece. The respective grinding tool has controlled microstructures and is characterised by relatively low percentage volume of abrasive grains, with degree of hardness between J and S on the Norton hardness scale and minimum tear speed of 30.48 m/s.
EFFECT: use of this tool for centreless grinding increases efficiency due to longer life service of the tool, reduced number of adjustments to the equipment and possibility of grinding at any speed, not exceeding the tearing speed limit.
