FIELD: transport.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to systems designed to control space vehicle motion around its center of mass. Proposed method consists in that projections of unit vector directed from space vehicle center of mass towards the start, for example the Sun, onto space vehicle coupled axes are defined during preset time interval (Δ) at least two times. Note here that operating characteristics of onboard orientation instrument are used as well as vector magnitude being equal to unity. Angles between said vector and space vehicle axes and difference in said angles during preset time interval Δ are calculated.
EFFECT: possibility to determine vector of space vehicle proper rotation angular velocity using results of measurement of direction to Sun or other stars in coupled system of coordinates.
