SYSTEM FOR SEPARATING PAYLOAD FROM SPACE VEHICLE Russian patent published in 2010 - IPC B64G1/64

Abstract RU 2396190 C1

FIELD: transport.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to appliances intended for connection and separation of space vehicle components. Proposed system comprises base 1 jointed to space vehicle structure 2 and plunger representing tube 4 with disk 5. There are also shaft 9, spring appliance to make plunger reciprocate, controlled appliance 25 to lock and release plunger in response to reciprocation initiation instruction. System incorporates platform 6 to accommodate payload to be separated that is fitted on shaft 9. Channel 3 is rigidly coupled with base 1. Tube 4 is arranged in channel 3 to move therein only in lengthwise direction. Torsion bar 14 has its one end coupled with shaft 9 and another end jointed to support assembly 13. That assembly serves to adjust angular speed of separation by varying torsion bar spring tension. Appliance 20 has nut 24 to adjust linear speed of separation by varying compression force of spring 23. Controlled appliance 26 serves to lock platform 6 and release it in response to rotation initiation instruction fed before reciprocation initiation instruction. Appliance 29 serves to lock separated payload and release it before separation. System imparts rotation to payload directed along translation speed vector.

EFFECT: ruling out of relationship between linear and angular speeds of payload separation, independent adjustment of said speeds.
