FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to process of removing protective coating, particularly for removing coating out of titanium nitride off surface of items out of titanium alloys and can be implemented in aircraft and power turbine engineering at repair of compressor blades. The composition contains, wt %: 38.5 - 40.5 of nitric acid, 59.2 - 61.3 of hydrofluoric acid, 0.1 - 0.3 of phenyl amine. By treating the item in the disclosed solution coating out of titanium nitride is completely removed off surface of items out of titanium alloys in 1-4 minutes without considerable substrate etching.
EFFECT: raised efficiency of protective coating removal.
