FIELD: veterinary science.

SUBSTANCE: method for detection of cats ill and infested with O. felineus includes serial application of the following components onto microtiter plate activated with opisthorchiasis antigen: samples of dissolved investigated cat blood serum and serums of negative and positive control, conjugate of antibodies to human IgM with peroxidase and substrate, incubation of samples and reference specimens, addition of antigenspecific human IgM and detection of positive sample by means of photometric measurements, at the same time calculation of titre in detected sample is done by method Logit/log, and if titre is more than 1:112, sample is considered to be positive.

EFFECT: method makes it possible to do mass research of cats and to detect infested animals in absence of parasite eggs.
