FIELD: electricity.
SUBSTANCE: method involves manufacture of insulating cover from composition on the basis of polysiloxane, fillers and curing agent, to which there given are thermal shrinkage properties by additional introducing to it, according to the known procedure, of ultra-high molecular polyethylene in the form of the pipe L long equal to the length of the protected part of the insulator, with inner pipe diametre equal to inner diametre of ceramic body of insulator and with thickness δ≈0.01·D, where δ - thickness of the cover, mm, and D - outer diametre of insulator, mm, which is then heated up to 175-185°C and blown to the value of outer diametre of ceramic body of insulator, and the insulator is placed in it. Then cover is heated up to 160-170°C and having checked that the cover is tightly adjacent to insulator parts and to joints of those parts, it is cooled to normal temperature. In the proposed method there used as curing agent is benzoyl peroxide (C6H5COO)2 or dicumyl peroxide (C6H5C(CH3)2O)2 or 2,5-dimethyl-2,4-bis-(tert-butylperoxy)-hexane.
EFFECT: obtaining reliable hydroprotection and mechanical protection of the coating of parts of high-voltage ceramic insulators and joints of those parts.
