FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: examination of critical frequency of flicker fusion is carried out by successive demonstration of single pulses of one of three colours - red, green or blue, starting with the shortest duration and with gradual increase of duration until the moment when patient starts to perceive the pulse. Critical frequency of flicker fusion in measured in three points of vision field: in temporal, nasal and central region. After that stimulation by two light pulses is performed. Time of perception is measured between a pair of pulses, when patient sees not one but two flashes. After that studied is threshold of electric sensitivity in temporal, nasal and central region, starting with the smallest value until its perception by patient, and duration of pulse at which phosphene appears is measured. After that time between two irritations is measured. Device for said method consists of body, control unit, which is electrically connected with its outlets with inlets of: pulse generator, pulse duration former, current generator, commutator of light diodes in matrixes and digital display, and with its inlet - with keyboard. Commutator is connected with light diodes in matrix, which are inserted into eyepieces of glass frame, and pulse generator with its outlet is connected with input of pulse duration former, which with its output is connected with inlet of current generator, from whose outlet pulses come to electrodes.
EFFECT: application of said group of inventions will allow to reduce investigation time and obtain reliable information about optic tract pathology.
