METHOD OF HYPOXIC TRAINING Russian patent published in 2010 - IPC A61M16/00

Abstract RU 2396987 C1

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention refers to sports medicine, physiology and sports pedagogy and can be used for hypoxic and hypercapnic trainings in intensive training and competitive loads. Substance of the method consists in hypoxic therapy by breathing through an additional "dead" space, sportsmen testing and diagnosing by vital capacity of the lungs, forced expiratory volume for 1 second, peak rate, vital capacity of the lungs, respiratory muscle strength and breath-out holding time. The hypoxic training by breathing through the additional "dead" space is periodic for 1.5 months by using two modes of the interval hypoxic training. In the first accustoming mode of the interval hypoxic trainings for 14 days, training is performed by the following sequence: for 5 minutes, breathing through the additional "dead" space represented by a respiratory training apparatus of volume 500 to 2000 ml depending on anthropometric data of a sportsman, a pause of normobaric respiration - 5 minutes at rest, within a course of 12 series. In the second basic mode of the interval hypoxic training for 20 days, in sports activity, the first 6 days is an adaptation period. The schedule of the interval hypoxic training is 5 min of mask breathing, 5 min of rest. It is followed with warm-up - a mode of the interval hypoxic training with an individual period of hypoxic expositions lasting for 2 minutes, a pause of normobaric respiration for 2 minutes. The basic part of the training is performed by the sequence: 30 sec - mask work, 60 sec - rest with the mask and 60 sec - rest without the mask.

EFFECT: application of the given invention allows improving effectiveness of the training process and bringing the sportsman's organism into a new level of adaptation to the maximum loads by selection of an individual mode of duration and number of trainings.
