FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: in the method, electromagnetic signals are received in a given frequency band. The spectral characteristic is generated and recorded for each received signal. The component with the maximum amplitude is picked up from the spectral characteristic. A test signal is then generated and emitted to the controlled zone (CZ). Electromagnetic signals are simultaneously received in the controlled zone. A spectral characteristic (SC) is generated and recorded for each electromagnetic signal received when the test signal is emitted to the controlled zone and the component with the maximum amplitude is picked up from the said characteristic. For each received signal, the frequency of the maximum spectral component picked up from the received signal when there is no emission is compared with the frequency of the maximum spectral component of this signal received when the test signal is emitted to the controlled zone. Presence of electronic devices illegally installed on the site is indicated by time variation of the fixed shift in accordance with the test sequence.
EFFECT: higher probability of detecting electronic devices illegally installed on a site (EDIIS) in the absence of preliminary data on parametres of electromagnetic signals of the electronic equipment installed in the controlled zone.
