FIELD: physics.

SUBSTANCE: output signal of such a sensor carried information on the velocity value in form of the square root of the sum of squares of generated velocity values, even during calibration on the measurement section, where drift and pitch velocity results from deviation of beams of the Doppler velocity sensor from the nominal direction in the horizontal and vertical planes. In order to ensure accurate operation of the Doppler velocity sensor, readings of the device for determining longitudinal velocity should be calibrated on the measurement section whose length is calculated during calibration.

EFFECT: equal accuracy of operation after calibration of the Doppler velocity sensor in any vehicle independent of specific values of angular errors of installation.
