METHOD OF PRESSURE ADJUSTMENT IN FUEL ELEMENT ANODE AND FUEL ELEMENT Russian patent published in 2010 - IPC H01M8/04

Abstract RU 2397578 C1

FIELD: power industry.

SUBSTANCE: anode (4) of fuel element (1) through unit (33) of inlet pressure adjustment is supplied with hydrogene, and cathode (5) is supplied with oxygen (3) or air, and through exhaust header pipe (29) from anode (4) via unit (34) of outlet pressure adjustment, mixture (28) of gas component (32) and condensate (31) is periodically discharge and collected in accumulating reservoir (30) and separated, and gas compound (32) returns to anode (4). To ensure return of hydrogen (2) with minimal power consumption it is provided that unit (34) of outlet pressure adjustment is opened for periodical mixture (28) outlet, and mixture (28) through exhaust header pipe (29) travels into accumulating reservoir (30). Pressure in accumulating reservoir (30) matches hydrogen supply pressure (2), unit (34) of outlet pressure adjustment after that, and unit (33) of inlet pressure adjustment and unit (37) of return pressure adjustment are set so, that pressure in accumulating reservoir (30) is changed via anode (4) self-consumption until set value (41) for pressure in accumulating reservoir (30) and/or set threshold value for pressure in anode is reached. After that unit (37) of return pressure adjustment and unit (33) of inlet pressure adjustment is set for the pressure in anode (4) to match set value (40).

EFFECT: minimal power consumption, maximal possible coefficient of efficiency of fuel element system.
