SUBSTANCE: fuel cell has fuel tank; oxidant tank; reaction zone incorporating at least one cathode and at least one anode with electrolyte in-between; enclosed water flask with at least one capillary channel running to reaction zone; fuel pipeline incorporating fuel pressure control device that functions to maintain static pressure of fuel within reaction zone; oxidant pipeline incorporating oxidant pressure control device that functions to maintain static pressure of oxidant within reaction zone; and electrical conductors connected to anode and cathode, as well as facility for connecting fuel cell to external equipment. Methods for using proposed fuel cell in power supply system, as self-contained power supply for borehole or for borehole tools are given in description of invention.
