FIELD: mechanics.
SUBSTANCE: invention is intended for filtering. The method of filtering water-and-oil emulsions involves their passage through channels formed by the filtering elements spiral coils, blowing steam through the sediment layer which is performed immediately after the evacuation in the filtering process direction under pressure of steam delivered into the lower part of the device housing. The method of filtering elements regeneration involves blowing steam through them in the direction opposite to that of the filtering process and mechanical cleaning. The filtering device contains a housing with nipples for inlet and outlet of the emulsion and sediments, cylindrical spirals (filtering elements) contained inside the housing, steam delivery nipples. Each spiral contains a rod shaft whereon cleaning devices are hafted so that to enable their axial motion; the cleaning elements consist of a central disc with a hole in the centre and scrapers with V-shaped slots. The scrapers are installed between the coils of the spirals acting as filtering elements. The spiral coils fit into the scrapers V-slots.
EFFECT: improved performance of the filter due to efficient removal of mechanical contaminants characterised by high adhesion to the filtering elements material from the filtering elements and enhanced degree of oil products removal from the solid phase.
