FIELD: mechanics.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to mass-transfer devices of towers for gas (steam) - liquid systems and may be used in petrochemical and chemical industries. The contact device is composed of rows of longitudinal plates arranged so that to shape angled elements positioned with their angles upwards, with a slot at the angle vertex and a clearance between the edge of the plate of the overlying row and the plate of the underlying row. The longitudinal plates are sinusoid-shaped and are positioned so that to enable creation of a jet-and-drop interaction of phases during passage through the clearances between the edge of the sinusoidal plate of the overlying row and the plate of the underlying row. The plates are slanted at an angle of 40-45 degrees.
EFFECT: improved efficiency and intensification of the mass-transfer process with gas-liquid systems as well as hydraulic resistance reduction.
