FIELD: ecology.
SUBSTANCE: invention is related to the sphere of environmental protection. Cleaning is done by means of filtration through previously separated glauconite sand, until mineral part content with particle size of 1-3 mm in amount of 99%, which is poured into column-type device with density of 0.08-0.16 kg/l, and filtration is carried out at linear speed of 200-400 cm/hr at temperature of 15°-35°C and pH 4-6.
EFFECT: method makes it possible to increase extent of cleaning due to extraction of all mercury forms available in sewage water.
