Methods for increasing cat life consists in the fact that food composition is fed to cat, which has lower levels of protein, phosphorus and sodium compared to standard cat food, in which level of each protein, phosphorus and sodium is reduced by approximately 10%, where standard food represents such food, which includes approximately 45% of protein, approximately 1% of phosphorus and approximately 0.4% of sodium, on the basis of dry substance.

EFFECT: invention makes it possible to increase duration of cat lives, provides for later occurrence of renal failure in cats and makes it possible to reduce morbidity and mortality caused by renal disease in cats.
